God wants His people to have a life that is unlike the life that most people on earth experience.  That life is full of His love, favor, mercy, and His very own life.  How does that come about?  It comes about through the new birth in Jesus..

Loving Life and Loving Lordship

Jesus in His earthly ministry once made the statement in John 10:10 saying, “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”  (AMP)

God wants His people to have a life that is unlike the life that most people on earth experience.  That life is full of His love, favor, mercy, and His very own life.  How does that come about?  It comes about through the new birth in Jesus.  So, if you’re not born again, there is an opportunity for you is to receive this “new life”.  But it only happens when you believe, receive, and confess Jesus.

Romans 10:8-11 says,  “But what does it say? The Word (God’s message in Christ) is near you, on your lips and in your heart; that is, the Word (the message, the basis and object) of faith which we preach, Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation. The Scripture says, No man who believes in Him [who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him] will [ever] be put to shame or be disappointed.” (AMP)

If you are born again and are not experiencing this “new fuller life”, examine yourself.  Get back to the basics.  Spend time with the Lord. Repent, pray and talk to Him about your life.

In each case whether you are a new believer or a believer that has lost their joy and the experience of the abundant life, coming to Christ changes everything.  As you obey God’s word and continue to follow Him with your whole heart, you can be assured that you will experience the abundant life that Jesus talks about in John 10:10.   Begin to read the bible daily and spend time worshiping Him.  Get involved in a bible-believing church fellowship.  Then as He speaks to you, and He will, begin to obey what He says.  As a result of your obedience, you will love life and His wonderful Lordship.
